Gaskonstante

Gaskonstante, die in der Zustandsgleichung für ideale Gase: p v = R T (bezogen auf das Mol.) vorkommende Konstante, die allgemein mit R bezeichnet wird.

R hat die Dimension einer Arbeit. Wird der Druck p in Atmosphären, das Volumen v in Litern gezählt, so ist R, da ein ideales Gas bei 0° C. = 273° abs. Temp. bei Atmosphärendruck den Raum von 22,412 Litern einnimmt, gleich 22,412 : 273 = 0,0821.


Wird mit Erg gerechnet, so ist R = 8,317 · 107,

Wird mit Joule oder Watt R = 8,317,

Wird mit Grammkalorien R = 1,985.


Im elektrochemischen Maß ergibt sich R = 8,317 : 96540 = 0,861 · 10-4. (96540 Coulombs bringen ein elektrochemisches Grammäquivalent zur Abscheidung.)
