Lycopodium

Lycopodium (Bärlappsamen), Samen von Lycopodium clavatum (Schlangenmoos).

Dasselbe wird in Gießereien zum Einstäuben der Modelle benutzt. Es verhindert das Anbrennen des Sandes an dem Abguß, so daß dieser sehr sauber und glatt ausfällt. Einer allgemeinen Anwendung steht der hohe Preis des Lycopodiums entgegen.
