Deformation der Flächen, im allgemeinen jede stetige Umformung, durch die eine Fläche in eine andre übergeht. Gewöhnlich versteht man aber unter Deformation die Fähigkeit einer Fläche, sich auf eine andre Fläche durch bloße Biegung oder Dehnung abwickeln zu lassen. Bei dieser Deformation bleiben der Winkel zweier Flächenkurven, die geodätischen Linien, das Krümmungsmaß und die geodätische Krümmung entsprechender Flächenkurven erhalten.
