Cer. – Wird jetzt hauptsächlich verwendet als Zusatz zu Auerglühkörpermasse und zu der auch Auermetall genannten Legierung Cereisen, aus 70 Gewichtsteilen Cer und 30 Gewichtsteilen Eisen, die für Taschenfeuerzeuge gebraucht wird (s. Geleucht, Ergbd. I, S. 310). – Cer-Magnesiumlegierungen dienen als Blitzlichtpulver.
