Bromide

Bromide, Verbindungen des Broms mit andern Grundstoffen oder (meist organischen) Radikalen.

Von denselben sind besonders die Metallbromide, Salze der Bromwasserstoffsäure und einige organische Bromide bemerkenswert (s. Brom). Viele derselben sind in Wasser leicht löslich; schwer oder gar nicht löslich sind die Bromide des Bleies, des Silbers und die Bromüre (Oxydulsalze) des Kupfers und Quecksilbers. Die unlöslichen Bromide, besonders Silberbromid (s.d.), sind sehr lichtempfindlich, daher wichtig für die Photographie. Weiteres findet sich unter den Stichworten der einzelnen Metallbromide.
