Bilinear, s.v.w. linear (d.h. vom erden Grade) in bezug auf jede von zwei beliebigen Größen oder zwei Reihen von solchen.

Z.B. ist axy + bx + cy + d = 0 eine bilineare Gleichung für die Unbekannten x und y,

a00 + a10x1 + a20x2

+ a01y1 + a11x1y1 + a21x2y1

+ a02y2 + a12x1y2 + a22x2y2

der allgemeinste bilineare Ausdruck mit zwei Reihen von je zwei Veränderlichen x1, x2 und y1, y2.
